Bloom Makers Studio - Weekly After School Classes for Children ages 6-12 (Term 1 2027)

Term 1, 2027 | Mondays 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Early Bird Special: Book before January 4th, 2027 to receive 15% off your term registration (automatically applied at checkout)!

Give your child a screen-free haven to decompress, build creative confidence, and learn genuine artisan techniques after the school bell rings.

After a full day spent sitting at desks, following rigid rules, and navigating busy classrooms, children need a dedicated space to unwind, work with their hands, and enter creative flow.

Bloom Makers Studio is our weekly extracurricular club designed specifically for primary schoolers (ages 6–12). Hosted inside our light-filled, sensory-aware studio at KIN Creative Space, our sessions bridge playful artistic freedom with real craftsmanship.

Our complete curriculum spans a full 12-month rotation with zero repeated activities, ensuring students continually encounter new tactile mediums, design concepts, and creative techniques across the year. From fluid paints and clay sculpting to tactile foil reliefs, our makers create durable keepsakes they are genuinely proud to display.

Why Families Love Our After-School Rhythm

  • The Mindful Decompression Zone: A peaceful, low-demand environment that eases the transition from a noisy school day into a calm evening.
  • Hands-On Material Diversity: Working with diverse artisan mediums helps naturally regulate sensory systems and build fine motor skills.
  • Process Over Perfection: We celebrate unique design choices and creative problem-solving rather than cookie-cutter outcomes.
  • Neuro-Affirming & Supportive: Facilitated with an understanding of diverse sensory and emotional needs, allowing children to create at their own natural pace.
  • Keepsakes That Last: Students create genuine artisan projects to bring home, use, and treasure.

Term 1 Curriculum (7-Week Term)

  • Week 1 (1 Feb): Fluid Color & Flow — Exploring vibrant alcohol inks on synthetic Yupo paper to create bespoke, laminated bookmarks. (Note: No class on 8 Feb due to Royal Hobart Regatta)
  • Week 2 (15 Feb): Sculptural Clay Foundations — Rolling, texturing, and hand-building air-dry clay magnetic fridge tiles.
  • Week 3 (22 Feb): Surface Design & Ceramic Glaze — Detailing, painting, and sealing clay fridge tiles. (Secondary project: alcohol ink ceramic tile coasters if time allows).
  • Week 4 (1 Mar): Dimensional Relief & Metallic Foils — Designing raised hot-glue line art and burnishing lustrous colored foils over wooden art boards. (Note: No class on 8 Mar due to Eight Hours Day)
  • Week 5 (15 Mar): Hand-Built Easter Sculpting — Forming pinch-pot Easter egg bowls featuring hand-sculpted bunny ears in preparation for Easter.
  • Week 6 (22 Mar): Decoupage Detailing & Easter Egg Hunt — Sealing and detailing Easter bowls with patterned decorative napkins and decoupage finishes so they are ready to take home before Easter weekend! We finish the session during the last 15 minutes with a Family Easter Egg Hunt in the courtyard (weather permitting). (Note: No class on 29 Mar due to Easter Monday)
  • Week 7 (5 Apr): Fluid Pour Canvas Art — Mastering color weight, cell creation, and dynamic acrylic fluid pour techniques on stretched canvas to celebrate the term finale.

(Subsequent terms explore mineral eco-casting powders, botanical watercolours, gelli-plate printmaking, and textile craft).
